Savor Magical Days
Earlier this month I was blessed to experience a perfect afternoon hiking Mt. Charleston near Las Vegas with my eldest son's family. This was after attending the @Women Presidents Organization's Forum for four days of jammed packed inspiration and learning. #EEF2023. See my posts from earlier this month.
I recalled an insightful article about resetting in nature to nurture our well-being. How I was fascinated to learn about why we crave the outdoors and the science behind our cognitive need to be in nature. I hope you find the article as fascinating too. https://lnkd.in/gdQmdc2J
Three key take aways:
1. Spending time in nature is linked to both cognitive benefits and improvements in mood, mental health and emotional well-being.
2. Feeling connected to nature can produce similar benefits to well-being, regardless of how much time one spends outdoors.
3. Both green spaces and blue spaces (aquatic environments) produce well-being benefits. More remote and biodiverse spaces may be particularly helpful, though even urban parks and trees can lead to positive outcomes.
